Wonderful getaway weekend

Catherine Powers Scarlett reviewed The Oaks Bed and Breakfast — 5 star July 30, 2018 · On Facebook We had a wonderful getaway weekend at the Oaks. Gail is an excellent hostess and we felt at home in her beautiful B&B. Breakfast was amazing and the porch was our favorite place to enjoy the gorgeous Saluda weather. Be sure to visit Gail's wonderful tea shop, Mewdlic's, for some delicious tea and treats. We cannot wait to go back for another stay at the Oaks!

Beautiful and Quaint

From Google Business: Beautiful and quaint victorian-style house from the late 1800s. The majority of rooms and baths are decorated era-appropriate furniture, art, and fixtures. Some downstairs are recent additions though, in case you would prefer that. I believe there are also accommodations in the guest house. The rooms are quiet, we stayed in the now white "red room", which is all the way in the back of the house. It may have the smallest bathroom, but it is very quiet, looks over the woods behind the house, and has a window a/c unit that kept the room cool and dehumidified. Then there was the shining star that made our stay even more enjoyable, and that was the hostess Gail. She makes a great breakfast, and went the extra mile with it by accommodating our various good restrictions. Gluten, dairy, and some fruits for one of us, and no pork products for the other. Everything was delicious. Gail even listened to all my incessant talking and questions about the house and about running a B&B. She made the stay feel like being with family, but without any of the obligations of staying with family. This was our first stay at a B&B, and we will be staying here again whenever we are in the area. There is a beautiful waterfall a short drive and short walk nearby - Piersons Falls, we highly recommend it. The town is cute, and has some stores and restaurants worth visiting. They also have an outfitter with whitewater rafting and the longest zip line in the state(s ?). We were planning on doing that, but ran into friends and went to Lake Lure nearby. Saluda is a great location to stay with many activities within 30-50 minutes distance, including the Biltmore estate. We will be returning to revisit some, and continue exploring.

One of our Favorites

Christie Miga reviewed The Oaks Bed and Breakfast on Facebook— 5 star October 29, 2017 · This B&B is one of our favorites! Each time we spend time at The Oaks, Gail takes excellent care of us, makes amazing breakfasts, and makes her home warm and cozy. The rooms are gorgeous, clean, and super comfortable. It is close enough to Asheville and the mountains to have a variety of options for activities, yet tucked away from everything. It is the perfect spot year-round.
